Day 5 Progress :: The Wall

Today’s Updates.

The mailbox died. The post was a bit old, and no match for an energetic 4 year-old. This will mean a bump in priority for the ‘replace mailbox’ item on the House Checklist. Yes, of course there’s a list. It is in Excel, with tabs. One day soon, I’ll go into the importance of the House Binder.

The Beer Garden table arrived today, here it is on the deck.  This deck has a power-wash and paint job in its future, which is also found on the House Checklist.

All of the wallpaper in the house (and there was a surprising amount of it)  has finally been removed from the walls.

I could go on, but you get the idea.

The really big update for the day is the wall.

The house was built as a typical 60’s split-level. Which means there is a wall running right through the middle of the main level to separate a kitchen and den from a formal living and dining area. We aren’t formal living area people, and that wall was eating light and needed to go.

Here’s a before shot of the wall. The blurring is deliberate. I can’t shake the producer roots and I’m not about to post photos of people without their permission. I do have permission from He Who Shall Not Be Blurred. Expect to see more of him, he loves a camera.

And now…

So exciting I kept looking at these pictures and not typing.

So now this post will show up on the 18th instead of the 17th.  Night, y’all.
